My pleasure to be of assistance.
Yes Adrian, you certainly don't need to be side tracked. You need to finishing that mod of yours, so all of us freeloaders can enjoy it. I am really looking forward to it. Just having those more realistic infantry squads, combined with proper range and sight, makes your mod so much more interesting to play.
I have been following some of the AI improvements that they say they are implementing in the Total Challenge 3 add-on. Some of them are quite good ideas. Like confining the trucks to roads and tracks. Which means that artillery have to set up near them, and armoured vehicles have to pull back to near the roads/tracks to effect repairs from the engineers trucks and resupply with ammo (unless you have ammo carrying halftracks that is). There maybe a couple of hints in there.

Already implemented, but I will only restrict wheeled vehicles to road during the Spring and Autumn battles. Otherwise, wheeled vehicles may not enter forest terrain, swamp and marsh. There is more incentive to use the roads, especially the asphalt ones as vehicles now travel faster on them and alot slower going over terrain. The original supply half tracks will still be in the game but not in every scenario. They were relatively uncommon. I have not found a way to allow infantry to pass through fences without having to re-make all my maps (which is not on). I havn't figured out how to restrict movement over craters either. All the rest is already done or improved on in Ostfront as you know. Adrian

Hi Adrian, As you are interested in Napoleonic, I have another link for you. It is a mod site for a game called "La Grand Arm'ee at Austerlitz". The game is realtime 3D, produced about 2000, and the mod reads as though it will be quite good. www.histwar.com/modules.php?name=NewsThe big challenge will be getting on to a copy of the original game so as to be able to play the mod. Don't be detered from concentrating on OstFront though. regards sunray ;D ;D

Yeah, wasn't impressed with the original game and I think it was a big flop. I will take a look at both when I have the initial Ostfront campaign out of the way.

Adrian, Just a quick comment. Seems that I was wrong about a mod being created for La Grand Armee at Austerlitz. The developers are using the same game engine, with improved graphics and gameplay, to create a new version called Les Grognards. My mistake. Foxy, I believe that you said that you were interested in American Civil War gaming. Try this website for a RTS game, that is being developed, called "Take Command 1861 - The Civil War". www.madminutegames.com/Anyway, I am still waiting patiently for OstFront. Good things are always worth waiting for. regards sunray

Adrain and Foxy, Sorry, but here's more temptation. The latest version of the Napoleonic mod for Medieval has just been posted in the last couple of days. It's version 3x, and is available from the site you downloaded version 2.09. You simply load it into the game, over the top of 2.09. Lots of extra units, graphics, and animations. Combined with the 1.1 map pack, it's a real killer. A must have!! Still waiting patiently for Ostfront, and playing Hagelsturm mod while I wait. Too much armour. Anti-tank guns on every corner. I bet the Russians wished they had that many during WW2. And mortar ranges leave a lot to be desired. Oh how we need OstFront for some reality. regards Sunray

Hi Folks, my real name is Stefan Hagemann and I`m from Berlin in Germany. Since now Ive been a Sudden Strike Junkie, playin every Mod thats available. I can say non commercial Modders are doing their best there. Because of the Fact that CDV released Sudden as well as blitzkrieg (and released both totaly uncompleted and bugged ) I then looked for Mods in Blitz. as well and HERE I AM. ;D REAL GREAT WORK YOU ARE DOING HERE Besides the config you did I must tell you that I really LOVE your Tutorial Missions. Cool balanced and great Streetfighting. As I have made some Experiences with CDV Games I can tell you that you neednd worry about upcoming commercial releases (means if everybody would run after it and make your work nonsense). Future releases will also be unplayable without you great Modders. ;D

Me again. Just forgot something. I dont know how many Germans are taking part in the Forum. Because of the Fact that Your main Interest seems to be in german Units and that You like as much correctness in Your Mod as possible I wanted to offer some help in spelling. (Idea came up to me as I saw ur last post on the Ostfront Page - its Flakvierling not verling) So if you have questions about Names of your German Units or something just ask me

Hi Stefan. Glad you like Ostfront. Well there is plenty of street fighting going on in Ostfront as well as sweeping tank battles ;D Thanks for your advice on spelling. I need to do a run through before final release to make sure I have crossed the 't's' and dotted the 'i's' Adrian

I am an ex team member of the RTV mod and worked as a researcher. I am happy to help if you need me. I see BBFred has joined your team. My email is andy.branfield@ medicross.co.za if you want to contact me directly. I am a great fan of your work. I offered my help as a beta tester earlier in the year but should have been a little more explicit .Regards
