How did you win the Smolensk mission

Well first you are given 2 objectives:

Take the factory and take the southern village.

I tried to capture the factory first because the objectives presented it as a tactical advantage. But it was too hard. So I captured the southern village instead.

The factory was never taken. I finished the mission by taking southern Smolensk and the northern bridge.

I wonder how other players won this mission.

Well Pogi I can only speak from my own experience but when I played this mission I chose to break thro the western side of the Russian lines (along the left edge of the map) then steamroll all the way thro the factory area along the road.

Of course it helps tremendously, before you assault the factory area itself, if you can neutralize the artillery on the north side of the river and the AA regiment in the factory area itself. The problem is you may then get into range from flank fire from the north side of the river as you progress from west to east thro the factory complex but heck, this is war!
