Now with the increase in range this had to go had in hand with drastic changes to the Rate of Fire of weapons.
All weapons now follow their historical ROF, so you won't find a/t guns firing as though they were on 'Speed'. Again the German tanks get the adavantage here as they did in real life. With better designed turrets and more crew their weight of fire is significantly greater than their Russian counterparts. However, watch out for those 76mm field guns as they can pump out shells at a good 'ol rate ;D
I also undertook a drastic overhaul of weapon accuracy. After testing firing with the extended ranges I found that the dispersion parameters do not decrease accuracy that much at ranges less than 30 and I also found that the original dispersion ratings meant that guns were extremely accurate at ranges of 90+. In some cases getting 80% accuracy.
Thus with reference to historical data and the 'Panzer War' set of miniature rules I totally revised weapon accuracy.
This basically leads to longer more 'nail biting' battles as you end up shouting at your tanks and a/t guns. It leads to developing fire and manoeurve tactics as you have some tanks hold at long range while others close in for the better shot and lastly and more importantly you begin to see a significant change in the fighting ability of your core units as they progress.
