Sd250 with workable MG's front and rear. Used as a transport vehicle for the Panzer Divisions, mostly in their Recce Units. Game play wise this vehicle can transport upto 8 men (Platoon HQ or Recon Unit), but does not have the supply facility.

only 1 question. does the 250/1 have any of the Hanomag's towing and resupply abilities or is it a battle taxi?

At the moment its a battle taxi. As you will still have other armoured half-tracks around to carry out supply duties. The 250/1 is there to lend fire support to infantry.

i was wondering how the Sd250 looked from that angle since i had already seen the first screenshot.. looks really nice in panzer grey, that's a nicer view to see, from the front with the vision slits with all the detail!, it would be nice to see the "russian mud" camo from the front also. i know the full version will be out sometime soon, but do the machineguns on the halftracks have muzzle flashes when in operation? and the odd tracer? it really is a great model that.

Adrian will you be modding the SdKfz 251' s with the same idea in mind? as often i have found that vanilla Blitz has more than enough transports to carry out resupply; and some with PaK's on them like the 3.7 the stubby 75 and the long 75?

Yes, same thing with the Sd251. This will be available with the first release along with some other new models The plan is to bring out as many of the half-track support variants as I can when they become available. Probably the next ones on the horizon will be the mortar carriers and I do love the Sd250/9 recce vehicle ;D Adrian

Hi Adrian,
I registered as soon as I saw your forum was up. You are doing a really great job, and I wish you the best of luck with your mod.
It's going to be fantastic to see a variety of the different support halftracks introduced. Do you think that you will be able to post screenies of the new vehicles, as they are created? Or are you going to keep them as a surprise?
I am really looking forward to getting the support that the halftrack mounted MGs will provide for my panzergrenadiers. Are you going to give the halftracks the ability to dig-in?
After you have finished on the Russian Front, it would be really great to see you turn your talents towards the Western Front, and the Western Desert. At this stage you are our only hope of injecting the realism that you have given OstFront into these other areas.
After playing with the realism that is in your mod, it makes playing the other mods very unattractive. It would also be nice to see your seeing distances, and gun ranges, implimented in Sepps "Broken Arrow" mod.
Keep up the good work!!!
regards
sunray ;D ;D

Thanks Sunray:
I will post info on the new vehicles as they arrive. The next batch will (cross fingers) include the following:
Sd 251/1 with MG's Sigg 33 SPG and it will be set-up as artillery T 26B twin MG turret T 28 Heavy Tank
Unfortunately, I have tried to give the Sd250 the dig-in facility but although it entrenches you can't get it to un-trench. I will do some more tests, which may mean classifying it as a tank, to see if I can get it to do so before final release.
It is going to take me several months to do what I want on the Eastern front. Presently, the Western front does not appeal due to lack/variety of allied vehicles, but I may well look at the Desert.
Saying that, I am planning on doing a couple of stand-alone missions for Normandy. These will be Villers-Bocage and the D-Day Para drops.
