The games are quite intense and often take longer than an hour to complete if played for the full duration with determined players. It's good to have a glass of water or some other beverage. There is always plenty of action and quite often total mayhem. ;D As usual with Blizkrieg online play, close down any other programs you don't need to have running, especially browsers and chat clients. Also turning down the Effects Quality can help reduce lagg. The maps are well balanced, though it is often the case that players are far more experienced playing with the German units and have developed good tactics and strategies playing Mission Kursk and Barbarossa campaigns. Personally, i am finding there is a lot to learn about using the Russian equipment effectively. ;D It can be quite difficult to play against an experienced player using the German side, please consider that if it seems difficult at first, hang in there and swap sides for the next game. I am really enjoying playing as Russian because it is a new challenge. Something i use a lot is the rotate command. I use it to face the frontal armour of a tank towards the opponent gun during a battle for maximum protection. It makes a lot of difference in this game in my opinion. Run amok! Drive your tanks at high speed over the opposition troops. You will soon have a notorious reputation like me. Hide in the bushes! And behind treees. This is very important, you will soon see for yourself. ;D

After playing now for a good few hours online, I am sorry to say that with Mission Kursk, the crash and lag is double that of the original Blitzkrieg.
One cause of this is if you have textures and effects at highest, you get the same problems online as in Blitzkrieg
On the mp maps that came with MK, it's not too terrible if all have low settings. However another thing I noticed is that the wrecked vehicles seem to take forever, if at all to disappear. This eventually lags the game so much that it becomes unplayable because you have little or no control over units.
One minor bug I noticed while playing is that the frags/flag points displayed on bottom right of screen do not show which side has scored what amount , as neither side is identified as either Germany or Russia, or whatever depending on the map. Maybe this was just because I converted a normal mp map to work with MK. I never looked during the last game I played LOL.
Playing online with BK without MK is far smoother and does not feel like you are watching everything happen in slow motion, or feeling like there is zero gravity. I like it SP or even 1v1 MP but until another patch is released to speed it up or, make the controls less spongy, I am uninstalling MK, sorry Adrian, but I love BK bugs n all, can deal with them, but I do not need more issues while trying to play my fave game :-)

I played another round with Wespe, Budd and Pte_ME. We weren't laging after i set everything at low. And Budd and Pte_Me havent set their settings to low. Sorry Seth but MP is fine. We lagged before cause i have effects on full, and Otis had on 20%.

so, after repeated requests to turn down effects you still kept them @ 100 % ? no wonder it lagged like crazy lol
No wonder I have a small sherry first thing in the morning these days ;-)

The bigest problem for MP of Blitzkrieg was that so many people out there played on PIII or low PIV machines, when i was playing MP with my friends people that had good PC and good conections there was no lag and we were playing with high setings and on 3v3 maps.

Mission Kursk I have been playing Kursk MP a lot since the patch was released, my experiances have been good from the outset. I have played many games with several players online and i have found it to be very smooth in most games. I had a few people go out of sync but that turned out to be their Hyper Threading once they disabled that there was no more problems. Concerning lagg i have experieanced a little bit on the odd game , but i beleive the problem is more likley due to high ping values, low end PCS and high detail settings, all these things will have an effect on the performance of the game. I cant say ive had any troubles 1v1 and only a few 2v2 ,and these where due to one or more of the above reason! It cannot in my mind be any worse than BK it is only better!!!

My dear moose, you play all the time with hellacool, you are used to lag :-P
On a serious note, I read somewhere that there is a new patch for Blitzkrieg that deals with the problems caused by dual core processors.
I just wish there was one that would deal with my fried cpu and motherboard LMAO
see ya soon when I get everything checked and damage repaired on my pc, cos this one I borrowed struggles with BK

I should have pointed out Seth in my last post that i have ping value of 350 to Otis, which is the same as i have with Hella Cool, ive played plenty of 2v2 with Otis and i have suffered very little if any lagg at all in these games, and now when i play a vanilla game with Hella (god bless him) i realise how bad it can be. Im hoping He will get Kursk and then i will know for sure.
Bye for now.

Hi Bogan I think, maybe I hope, that part of the problems I was having with Mission Kursk was due to a gradually failing mobo or cpu, I am still awaiting confirmation from some techie people as to what it is that is wrong with my poor pc :-( I have seen some weird pc breakdowns in my time but this one has me beaten. When I get back online on a decent machine, everyone will know I will have a lot of killing to catch up with LOL My main concern now is to get back so I can fight in the 2v2 tournament that is about to begin, so fingers crossed Regards

Watch out, I am back ;D new mobo and a new psu and I am cookin' ! Clean install of Blitzkrieg with Mission Kursk on top, patched to 1.5 which was very kindly sent to me by my new friend Bogan. The traffic jams are amazing, give us a bridge and we will take the long way round, or go over in reverse with our tanks, and troops and anything else in the area in a tangle ;D And then when we cross the bridge, we will creep forward like a snail at full gallop, wondering how the tiger on the other side of the map can still hit us Man alive I hate vanilla ice-cream, cos it is only vanilla flavoured, you can't beat the real thing though. I like Blitzkrieg, bugs n all, I can handle most of them, with a select few I can have a free flowing, fun filled slugfest and enjoy it whether I win or lose. Mission Kursk is hard work just moving from one flank to the other. It looks nice to the eye, but to the head it cause much pain. Keep plugging away, eventually is will flow like a stream and be perfect, until then, I better keep my pain killers handy :-P Regards

Mission Kursk 1.5 is solely for MP play. It is still in testing at the moment to be released very soon.
