The Last Push to the South

I was playing this mission today and the first time when i started playing it i manage to found 3 mine fields and clear them but i didn,t get any more objectives or reinforments,so the objective where i had to scout the roads and crossroads didn,t ended.
After this i restarded the game and i found 2 mine fields but the objective ended and i recived new objective,who knows what hapened the first time maybe some little gremlins or something simular. ;D

Actually in this mission only the crossroads need to be checked, and if mined, cleared.

Note tho, that even if one of the 2 crossroads are not mined, you still need to drive an engineer half-track or get a recon or engineer squad on the spot in order to complete the objective.

Great mission this one,but i have another question regarding this one.Is it posible to conquer the Hill 240 i throw everything that i had against this one,manage to get to the top two or three times only to be repeled by trops that were poping up around me.But i will remember this Hill all my live it was the most interesting fight for some high ground that i fought since i am playing BK, to bad that i didn,t take some screenshots it was sure nice to see all those wrecks scatered around that Hill.
BTW in the briefing i was told that i should expect Tigers to come to mu help but they never came.

Tigers in this mission will only appear if you kept Kashara in your control at the end of the previous mission. Guess you didn't.

Strange,i did have soldiers in Kashara until the end and there were no atacks on this vilage except the one that hapened after i conquered the vilage.

So I gather you did not lose Kashara to the Russian counter-attack?

Hmmm, was the second time i had to take Kashara, at the mission before i was asked if i want to take Kashara at the end and it seemed to be free to take the village or not and then in A Tough Climb i had to take Kashara again, but the counter attack wasn´t that bad, they only tried once to take the village back from the west. After taking hill 257 there was also a counter attack that could be repulsed also, finally taking hill 274 wasn´t that problem because the russians haven´t had any artillery left so my tanks could take the hill. Does this mean, that i will become the tigers in the upcoming mission The Last Push to the South that were mentioned in the briefing ?? Kashara was held till the end.

Nope i manage to repel the russian counter-atack, i did lost more tanks than usually but the vilage left in my hands.And there were two more russian counter-atacks but there were not against Kashara or the forces never got near Kashara ,one on the western side that hapened when my forces started with the assault against Hill 257 and the last counter atack hapened after i had taken the hill 257 this one on the eastern side.

So what about the Tigers, i had Kashara in the mission before and i haven´t had Tiger during the mission. reinforcements were only Pz 3 + 4. And what about that hill ? I killed 5860 Enemies and they just popped on the map again and again and after that counter attack were i expected tanks but only Infantry came I did not have the chance to conquer that hill, the mission was directly won.

And one more question, is it possible that after i loaded the mission new the kind of reinforcements for me have changed, i know that enemy possitions can be changed but that the kind of vehicles for reinforcments will change was new for me.

Yep. We got the script reinforcement wrong here. If you actually lose Kashara you will get the Tigers. Obviously this is the wrong way round and will be changed in Patch 1.31.

I assume we're talking about Hill 240 to the South of Teploe here?

The hill is pretty much impossible to conquer by design. Historically this is where the last "push to the South" from Model's army happened, and the Germans never managed to conquer that position, ending up defending at Teploe against the Russian counter-attack.

Still, the end of the mission doesn't end the battle if you choose to... So you could still try a what-if and conquer that hill.

As for the counter-attack itself, there can be tanks involved (the 11th Guards tank brigade) but their appearance depends on the previous mission and how successful you were there. Apparently you did good because the AI had to commit them on that part of the front, so they couldn't reappear here again!

Ok, thx thats the reason, actually i had the hill if you want to, because all AT or MG positions were destroyed just the enemies popping on the map were left and i was wondering to fullfill the objective.

Can you just tell something to the reinforcements, we are discussing this at the german BK portal at the moment. In the 3rd north mission we had to conquer two hills 257 and 274. For the attack of 257 people received different forces, some get Pz 3+4 other Stug 3 is it skripted or does the difficult level influence the type of reinforcements?

For NM 3 when attacking Hill 257 the reinforcements will be different depending on losses sustained during NM2 and NM3.

If you have taken significant Panzer losses then the Stug company will appear, otherwise just the additional panzers.
