Sorry for not getting back earlier Ilija, it is Sunday you know Completing the northern Defence line first should not be a problem nor failing the Ravine objective. However, I think there is a hic-up in the scripting that will not complete the Northern Defence Line objective if you kill all the defenders before they get up and run away. Will get this rectified asap. If you want to re-run the mission try using a save game prior to killing all the Russian in the last defence line. Once they vacate the trench you can then fire away and the mission will complete. Adrian

It is ok Adrian ,i am now in the third mission and i am having the time of my live. About that bug in the second mission i think that 2 or 3 soldiers manage to run from the trenches before i killed them. Another strange thing that happened to me while playing this mission was that after i have completed the eastern ravine objective and cleared all trenches after some time out of nowhere came some russian soldiers with AT guns and machine guns it is kind a strange if they pop up before your tanks from nowhere ;D.

Would like to know how you guys are preceeding with this mission?
If you fail building teh ravine mission you will get the objective to clear the mines east of ravine so you can then attack the main village and western ridgeline.
If you wait for 11th Panzer to arrive and then attack the east ravine first before cleaing the mines east of the ravine and the western ridge line, then the Russian guns will appear at the wrong time.
If this is the case, we will think about amending the script for this mission, so that 11th Panzer does not appear until later.

Would like to know how you guys are preceeding with this mission? Adrian Well, first of all, hats of for this amazing game! Haven't had so much fun in a wargame since "Steel Panthers" long long time ago. At last the sound of a round bouncing of my panzers again, "kachunk" (where the hell is that Pak??) About the mission; having a tough time trying to repair the bridges, sending my pioniere again and again on a suicide mission just doesn't seem "fair". Smoke screens do not seem to work that great?? Ordered all of my available guns to fire smoke just before the bridge.... nonetheless russian artillery fires happily away at my poor defenceless pioniere... Also I can't seem to find a safe spot for my arty, nor can I send bombers to destroy the enemy arty because I don't have any (yet?) . So I plan on attacking via the eastern part.... read about masses of enemy tanks counter attacking though... If this one is this tough, I wonder what a "Seelöwe" heights scenario would be like...

Well, finally ended this mission but had some problems doing so. The last two objectives (take prisoners for interrogation and cut off nothern escape route) didn't finish for some reason for a long long time. I had cleared the entire map of enemies with my original forces, the reinforcements came only after I had taken the entire map. Expecting an enemy counterattack I put them in position along the former russian trenches, and lo and behold, suddenly enemy AT guns and infantery appear, they literally pop up between my troops. Supposedly they were scripted as reinforcements for the, by then hard pressed, russian troops. Only I already had taken the entire map. I conquered the map by an armored assault with my Panthers via the wooded, not mined area, in the middle. Then raced across the two or three empty trenches, went to the north east side to take out the russian artillery, and then turned left to take the northern depot (aka nothern escape route). Went back for ammo and took the rest of the map via the eastern part. Taking trenches one by one. Repairing the two bridges was one of the last things I did. Maybe that was the reason my reinforcements came so late in the game?? And the reason the russian troops popped up in the middle of my troops?? One other thing. I captured two of the three russian heavy arty in the North-Eastern corner. The moment I used them against their former owner they fired just one shot and then they suddenly disappeared..... Strange things happen on a battle field ;D Anyway, great scenario, on to the next one.

Thanks Jushua, Do you mean the woods just south of Cherkasskoe roughly in the middle of the map and east of the main road running north of Cherkasskoe? Didn't really see anyone capturing those guns . Will fix in next patch. Adrian

Thanks Jushua, Do you mean the woods just south of Cherkasskoe roughly in the middle of the map and east of the main road running north of Cherkasskoe? Didn't really see anyone capturing those guns . Will fix in next patch. Adrian Yep, that same road. It was the only non-mined approach possible. As soon as I saw what my original force was planning to do when the scenario (frontal attack at the western ridge) begins I pulled them back to a safe place. Then I noticed that I couldn't make the smoke screen thick enough for my sappers to make a safe path through the minefields. So I had to look for a route of attack that was not mined. Then cleared three trenches or so with 5-6 panzers (just above the wooded area) and as soon as they were clear I raced across empty fields to take out the russian heavy arty. And then veered to the left to take the northern objective. ----> time for re-ammo. I really could see the two russian guns disappear because I reloaded the game twice to see it happen. And ofcourse the strange thing of russian troops appearing between my troops stationed on the former russian defence line. Well, just some small quirks, it's a great game.

After cleaning mounts of minefields, my soldiers go on dying and my vans go on exploiding while moving through the trenches. Are there "invisible mines" I can't detect?
