Hello All, I have been playing Ostfront: Barbarossa and finding that the new units and ranges (with the shorter range patch installed) are excellent. I particularly like the new/modified infantry units. They are much more realistic. After seeing the screenshots of new units for Kursk, I find myself becoming more eager to get my hands on it, with the release of each new screenshot. I have always believed that the extra appeal is in the realistic detail. The newly released unit screenshots qualify that. I realise that there are command halftracks in the game, but has any thought been given to having command tanks, which have similar sighting/fire control abilities to the forward observer teams? Love the 3 man MMG teams. Is this change going to be implimented for all MMGs? The team is doing an excellent job. Keep up the good work. regards sunray

Thanks for the praise Sunray(great thread on the BK forum BTW ). Tempting to produce Command Tanks, but we decidec to just leave with half tracks this time. We will see what functions vehicles get with BK 2 before considering tanks and other OB/Recon vehicles. With future releases we will change theMG teams. At the moment the Maxim has the correct animation, but original models do not. Adrian

Hello Adrian, I take it that you are referring to my "Kursk addon - and others" thread, in the Kursk section of the BK Portal forums. If you are, I have to say that I passionately stand by every word I said. Thanks for the information. The MMG teams look so right as a three man team. Maybe I am a little one eyed, but the enemy artillery always seems to be much more accurate than it should be. You really need to hastily adopt the 'shoot and scoot' philosophy, until you dispatch their artillery units. And that's with the game difficulty set to 'easy' (poor plodder that I am). Also, I wonder about the recharge rate for air support. I have also been injecting a bit of variety into BK by playing with Olmsted's mod. During Barbarossa, I had thought that the German army had substantial air support to call on. With my experience (so far) playing Ostfront: Barbarossa, the Russians seem to have more readily available air support than I. Anyway, I guess I should be making these comments in a different section of the forum. My apologies. Keep those new units rolling out. regards sunray

Fair comment about artillery. You need to be careful about Artillery Reveal radius. This is based on size of guns in Barbarossa, so the bigger the gun the easier to locate. If you have moratrs it is advisable to use them until you have cleared the enemy away from your intended artillery park. Once they are out of sufficient range the Russians wil be unable to locate your artillery. However, saying that there are several mission in Barbarossa with there are hidden Russian troops specifically there to make life difficult Yes, the Germans did have air superiority, but the Russians had enormous amounts of planes and at several crucial points during the Barbarossa campaign they gainid local air superiority through weight of numbers. Okay not for very long. Adrian

Sure will, all units appearing in Kursk are reskinned to the same standard as the new ones, we just didn't show a lot of the new skins for the original BK units... yet.

First shots on one of the new planes that will feature in the up-coming "Blitzkrieg Add-On". This is the Henschel 126 used as a Recon and light Attack plane during the early to mid war years. Adrian

Adrian, A very nice aircraft indeed. I take it that the machinegunner in the rear seat of the Henschel 126 is fully functional, and not just a pretty face? I am looking forward to seeing more of the new units, and of course the finished product. regards sunray
