Is it true that a tank represents a troop of 3 or 4 and a squad of infantry now represents a platoon? If its not, please tell me so I can get this mod! Btw, do I need some custom missions/maps or can I just go straight into the regular campaign, thanks for the info ;D

Hi Ultimate End, Adrian doesn't seem to be around at the moment. So, just a quick response from me, until he logs on and gives you some concrete info. Yes, as his mod info indicates, there is a ratio of 1:3 or 1:5 for tanks. Actually, I don't take much notice of this, and unless you are a dyed in the wool grognard wargamer, it doesn't really matter. Just play it like it comes. I play it as 1:1, and enjoy the hell out of it. If you don't play the mod because of the ratio, you're going to miss one great experience. After you play this mod, you won't want to go back to playing the original Blitzkrieg. That's how good it is. As for the mission, you can't play the original game campaign/missions because of the range/sight imbalance between the two. But Adrian has given us quite a few missions in his current campaign, as well as several stand alone missions that can be downloaded at the same time as you download the mod. Go and download now - you will regret it if you don't. regards sunray

My gaming background is miniature gaming which extensively use figure scaling to get round the issue of playing on a 6' by 4' board which is supposed to represent at battlefield several kilometers across In Ostfront it has little bearing on game play and you can either imagine each soldier as he is represented or as I see a squad representing 30 to 40 men. If I was to represent historical battles on a true 1 to 1 scale in BK the whole game engine would ground to a halt . It also helps explain the constriction in weapon ranges. Anyway glad you like the mod. There is certainly more to come. Adrian

that's right, to come anywhere close to an accurate portrayl, everything must be scaled down. i still play the game as 1:1, but the thought is still there of the bigger picture.
sometimes i think large battles should be broken down into a series of connected missions, covering the actions of different battle groups.

My very thoughts.
That you have one chapter on a big battle and then missions of the battle in the same map area, thus useing less maps with more play value.
