Hello Adrian, I recently bought Barbarossa and I must say I really enjoying it much at the moment I m just meeting a little problem in the Dash for Bobruisk scenario. How can I remove the satchel charges from both bridges over the Beresina without sappers ? I didn't get any at start of the scenario or as renforcement ( only got them when both bridges got blown up...) Please , any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. And keep up the very good work

To save the bridges you must rush the Russians on the far side as quickly as possible. You will not be able to prevent the rail bridge blowing, but if you manage to catch the Russians off-guard and rush the buildings on the far side of the road bridge you have a chance of saving the road bridge. I am not going to say more than that for fear of giving too much away Adrian

I beleave trying to rush the road bridge Is going to be hard, by the time you have the Railbridge and town, your Infantry are going to be thin on the ground.
Your best bet is to keep your Medium Arty quite and use your morters to knock out the Russians in the buildings and wait for your recovery and truck to replenish the Inf.
Then mend the road bridge, use your Dive bombers to help you. I say no more.

Well, tried to rush to roadbridge in order to get some far end building but I was badly nailed down (playing in hard mode). So eventually I didn't managed to prevent the bridge to be blown off and waited for my engineers to repare it... Finished the scenario anyway, full of nasty surprises hehe. I m really enjoying this Mod, far the best I ever played, the new range's increases mostly, big maps allowing real manoeuvers and all other well thought modifications are making Ostfront the most realistic and entertaining wargame I ever wanted to play. Can't wait for Kusk now, where, oh please, make that my Tigers won't need to be at less than 50 m of a T34 before being able to engage it Your team did a really great work !

Hehe, glad you managed to storm that roadbridge Chym. ;D I have played that mission many times, and that bridge sure is a hard nut to crack. OSTfront is also the most realistic and entertaining computer wargame i ever wanted to play too. I think it's great that everyone who tries it seems to enjoy the many changes, and the large maps. I really don't enjoy playing blitz without the OSTfront addon pack any more, so i am really looking forwards to Kursk also!

This is a fun mission that unfortunately, frequently, freezes the game as soon as the russian northern counterattack is triggered. Dunno why . Just stutters worse and worse then freeze. Sometimes it works ok tho.

Thanks for that. As with your post in Technical support I think your weak link is your video card and the resolution you are playing the game at.
The 3D models require alot of performance from vid cards and RAM and at this point in the mission alot of Russian units appear. Decreasing your resolution and the effects quality may reduce the game slow down.

Hey all I`v only just found out about this game and it looks good. i`v played and enjoyed Close combat russian front and combat mission barbarosa to berlin. Both games have a level if reality which goes beyond your typical "pacman" vid games...is this one worse, as good or better then the others? Greetings Sven mk1

Hi Sven I am not familiar with the version of the demo you have unfortunately. Someone else will help you as soon as possible, i am quite sure of this. In the meantime, i suggest you post exactly where you installed the demo (directory), for ease in troubleshooting.

In answer to your first post I would firstly say I am and so are some if not all of the Ostfront Development team fans of both Close Combat and Combat Mission. One of our briefs was to make an Add-On for the original Blitzkrieg game that would make it as realistic as possible.
As the developer of Ostfront:Barbarossa I would say that it is certainly better than the original Blitzkrieg game and certainly on par game play wise with Close Combat and Combat Mission.
As for your post relating to the Demo you will need either Blitzkrieg or its two official Add-Ons installed to use the Demo. The Demo setup program will default install to c:\Blitzkrieg\Run\Mods\Ostfront_Demo\Data. The file path from Run onwards must be maintained otherwise it will not install properely. Once you have done this launch the original game and access the Ostfront Mod through Options => Load Mods => Ostfront Demo. Then select New Game => Custom Games => Custom Campaign.
Please note that CDV Software Entertainment now have the publishing rights for Ostfront Barbarossa which will be published and distributed by them within the next month.

hey there... well i`v played the demo of Blitzkrieg and although i enjoyed it, i did find it more like age of empire then combat mission. I like the idea that there are all the weapons, armour and air force which correspond to each army but, and theres always a but.. i missed the A.I for the infantry and the diference of each of there small weapons fire..... i find that its not a bad start and i am looking forward in playing Ostfront. all the best Sven mk1
