Thanks for that Wolfseven. Not sure if Nival are aware of the problem so perhaps you should post it on their forum?

Can I just ask will there be random missions? I dont know if you've covered this point somewhere else but I'd certaintly like to have them since, for me, they increase the life of the game a great deal.

Kursk will not have random missions. There are quite a few reasons for this, but the main one being the actual Kursk Offensive only lasted just over ten days. So random missions would not fit the campaign structure as they are designed to be used with extended campaigns covering several weeks or months.
Also they require alot of work to get the right "feel" and not all players like them.

I agree that the random missions do not fit with the Kursk campaign, but I love the random missions feature in Bk. It is the one thing, apart from modding, that makes the game eminently replayable - especially when you mod the random missions. With that said, I think Kursk will be dynamic enough that it will not need random missions.

Hello Everyone, I understand Adrian's reasoning, but I fully agree with both 'mike303' and 'Olmsted'. Random missions extend the life of the addon substantially. I personally, do not have the time to be creating extra missions for myself. And I hate to admit it, but I would even be prepared to pay a little extra to have random missions included in the final product. This is one of the reasons why I gain a lot of pleasure out of playing Olmsted's mod, in conjunction with the mods that inject those random missions into it. I believe that this feature (random missions) will create increased demand for the product, which will translate to extra demand, and sales. If, at the end of the day, there will not be random missions, some serious thought should be given to having a substantial number of extra downloadable missions made available from the website. Don't underestimate the power of random missions to attract more buyers. regards sunray

I am sure Olmsted will agree with me that random msiisons do take an extremely long time to get right. I would have loved to put more in Barbarossa but time just caught up with me.
The Kursk missions are dynamic and have a great deal of re-playablity. Saying that, yes we are planning some more missions which will be released after Kursk is finished.

I fully accept Adrians point regarding the random missions, although whilst I would love to have them I can cetaintly live without them, especially considering the look of the new units. But at the same time I'm a little concerned that its life may be restricted a little, whilst I've played the original BK campaigns numerous times, the Burning Horizon expansion did not keep me as interested. This is mainly because it did not allow me enough time to use my core units between missions and as such restricted me a little. Considering that Bk does concern itself with 1939-45 and not a two week battle it does make sense.

I fully agree with Adrian.
I never liked the way Blitzkrieg implemented random missions in order to to gain experience for your core units. They very quickly became detached from the main experience and utterly repetitive & stupid.
If you are going to implement a campaign core experience system at all, do it with properly extended campaigns with missions that belong there.
In a shorter campaign, ditch the campaign core experience system altogether.
Having said that, by all means include a random mission generator to extend the life of the product.
