I am playing the german version of Mission Barbarossa. Acquired just a week ago. The Bobruisk-mission is about to capture the two bridges. They are both mined, but the initial setup does NOT provide any "Pioniere" (Engineers) to disarm them. I've executed several random missions and are already promoted to "Hauptmann" (Captain) with 25% to the next rank. The bridges are exploding after a while (either when some troops step on it or automatically after some time). The result is a mission failure What shall I do to continue ?

The bridges are scripted to explode soon after German troops start crossing them (particularly the Rail bridge). After you have defeated the initial Russian forces the south side of the bridges you have an option to rush the Road bridge and clear any Russian troops in the nearest building. However, if you fail to do this the Road bridge will explode.
Once the Road bridge explodes you will get engineer vehicles to repair the bridge(s). You will get one replacement but if you lose your engineer vehicles without repairing the bridges or the bridges get destroyed again you will lose the mission.
Thus, you must maintain the bridges and keep your engineer vehicles safe. The Russians will be keen on destroying the bridges to prevent the Germans exploiting a bridgehead.

Ben, If you lose all your engineers, you will fail the mission.
Take good care of your engineers.

Hi Ben,
I have the same problem. Any resolution yet? My engineers are safe but I still get the message above.

Adrian,
I have run into the same problem with this mission (Bobruisk) in Mission Barbarossa. I have started campaign twice and can't seem to make it past Lieutenant. Either is going to single missions helping as I am not gaining rank. So everytime I cross the bridge I fail the mission. The patch I downloaded doesn't help either.
Thanks for any help.

Hi,
You sure you have the patch installed correctly?
All you need to do to gain rank is complete a few more random missions. Once you reach Oberleutnant you will gain another platoon of Panzers and that will solve any issues with the Bobruisk bridgehead.

Funny that, as I have just started this game again and reached OberLt before Bobruisk mission, and then have played more random missions after, ok.
You have to keep playing random as Adrian say;s, that is the only way to get more equipment, but you should still be able to finish this Bobruisk mission with the first lot of Panzers, as Lt .
Just take your time and spot the artillery comeing your way, then nutralise(bomb the hell out of it), after a few goes you will know near enuff whear the arty is situated, but yes It does move allso in diff restarts, so watch that allso.
Have fun.
