A Big Well Done!

Hi there Everyone on the Ost Front team,

I've been coming and going on your website since you first started up but it's only now that I've got around to joining your forum (Better late than never!).

I thought it should only be fitting that my first post should be a big well done for all your hard work that went into the Ost Front mod. In my humble opinion, it took the game (which was enjoyable before) and added real depth and realism that couldn't have been achived otherwise. Honestly guys, a big thank you here from "sunny" Scotland

I have got a few questions though about your mods in general, I hope you don't mind? I have read that your next pack will be the Kursk offensive. Without giving too much away...

1) Can we expect to see new units? In particular I think it is a SIN that the original game designers left the Panzer mk I out of the game! ;D

2) This has possibly been asked before but I was always a fan of the East/West Front game series. Is it possible set up a mod that allows similar game style? ie, choosing to be and infantry/mechanised commander? Basically, having infantry game experience and be available to you rather than tanks. When I play, I always enjoy making detailed infantry assaults more than mechanised assaults!

3) If I had one request...it would be for a large street to street mission, based heavily around infantry assaults. Although I know this will probably not be possible since Kursk was one of the largest tank battles of WWII

Anyway, after all my ranting, again a big well done!

In response to your queries:

1) Yes, Project Kursk will have new units. In fact over 30 new units. These will not only include the new units from Barbarossa that were still in service ddduring Kursk, but also new units such as various German Panzers with skirt armour, new German Artillery and flak guns and new Russian planes.

I will be posting a new thread concerning Project Kursk within a few days, which will go into this in more detail.

2) Choosing your own forces is rather limited in the current game. It is not as flexible as the Talonsoft games or Combat Mission. Saying that though, Blitzkrieg is a game of Combined Arms, so we have made every effort to make the infantry more formidable and this will be carried on in Project Kursk.

3) I think urban combat would be very popular, but unfortunately, without proper LOS/LOF rules within the BK engine it is not possible to model correctly. Hopefully this will change with future releases.
