Well, it was early dawn and 4th panzer group was fresh from the last 3 weeks of a battles.
Lt. Wolfseven sent a scout group out but it didn’t return.
From the second reconnoiter they found the burned out carcass of the 222. It looks like small arms and a light AT gun hit it. The report also had a s.i.t.r.e.p. (Size, identification, terrain, Resources, Enemy, Posture.) of the small town that lay ahead of 4th panzer scout group.
“Well, Sgt. Grumpy looks like we got some cleaning up to do.” Said Lt. Wolfseven.
FirstSgt. Grumpy looked at his coffee took the last sip and looked over the terrain and then gave a sigh. “Yep, I’ll ready the troops.”<br> Lt. Wolfseven ordered the 2 scout sdkfz half tracks to take up flanking positions moved the 2 squads up in trenches to anchor the right flank. He radioed Pz II f and Pz III e Pz38t to move up point with elements from 3rd and 4th squad in follow up positions…. then the arty began……..
Stay tuned for the next installment of Lt. Wolfseven’s OST’s diary.
