With the release of ostfront Barbarossa soon approaching I have consolidated the downloadable version to create the Ostfront Demo.
The Demo now includes the basic Realism Mod combined with the Tutorial Campaign and the two stand-alone missions.
The Demo is now to be installed in the Mods directory and will thus eliminate any Crashes to desktop.

Adrian, With the consolidation of the campaign, and the stand alone missions, into the demo, did you by any chance update the demo with some of your new units? I am hoping you did put one or two of the new ones in there..... regards sunray   |

i realy like the ostfront demo , i am not a singleplay fan i play most of the time,s multyplayer .
but this demo i realy enjoy ,i like the bigger range of weapons only the panzer 2 and t26 are shooting a litle bit to far if you ask me , wel mabye i have to get use to it.
anyway this is much better than the original campagne,s . the are realy bad a boring .

The Pz II and T 26 had a an effective range between 800 and 1000 meters, but they were not too accurate at this range. You will find with the Pz II that it will only fire single shots at long range particularly at vehicles, only going full auto when close and with a side shot. The T26 along with the rest of the light Russian tanks can't hit a barn door at long range.
You will find in the full version a better enhanced gunnery system that takes into account gun accuracy, projectile speed and size of target. This allows you to develop fire and manoeuvre tactics rather than the dash and blast away of the orginal game.

There will be no MP maps with this Release but I am planning to do several Mp maps for free download from my site.
I would also encourage other gamers to produce their own maps once they have bought Ostfront or use the Ostfront Demo to create some.

well, we'll be looking forward to that. they need to be 16 by 16 or bigger, perferably bigger. i need some sicily, and italy maps. how about a straigts of massina, or anzio. i'm working on a ###### map(sorry censored,top secret)
hey Robin, if a feller was to change the diplomasy, micky with script id's and set start commands, to get your maps to run as SPmissions, would that get yer dander up any? ya aint gonna foam at the mouth and nash yer teeth any over that are ya?

Yes the maps will need to be 16 x 16 or bigger unless you have all infantry combat.
Unfortunately you will find it difficult to do any Italian maps as I have not updated any of the Allied units (well not all).

how about italian units. do you have any retextures for spring and summer. i've got winter skins i got from some spmap if you change a letter in the file name they work in afrika, looks sort of silly though. couldn't get it to work with spring and summer.
