Help with Demo

Okay. You need to install the Ostfront Demo to the following directory:

C:\Program\Nival Interactive\Blitzkrieg\Run\Mods\Ostfront_Demo\Data

Once you have it installed here, you then need to launch the Blitzkrieg game and select the following from the Main Menu:

Options=>Load Mods=>Ostfront_Demo

(If Ostfront_Demo does not appear in the Mod listing you have installed in the wrong directory).

Once you have done this Ostfront_Demo will appear in the bottom right hand corner of your main screen in yellow.

Select

New Game=>Custom Game=>Custom Campaigns

For the Intro and first campaign missions

or

New Game=>Custom Game=>Single Missions

2 standalone missions

I dont understand that last, Data is a folder in my Blitzkrieg Folder, how can i install the Data to be in my Ost Front folder? I dont understand...

Hi, sorry for troubleing but, i heard nice sounds in the trailers ive seen , but i didnt have them in the demo, are those sound files downloadable??

Sorry, but the sounds are for the retail version only, there's no plan to make them downloadable at this time. You could try Edgecrusher's sound pack tho, as he made ours and his pack is free:

Okay hello again, I would like to get some help on "how" to extract your Data.pak ? I wanna change wreck disappear time and more things, i dont know how to use Winzip so good,Some step-by-step help would be good.

The original Demo files installed as a Data.pak. If you download the Demo now it will install as a file directory, thus you can open files and amend as necessary (remember to back-up).

Would be interested in what other dat files you want to change. Any constructive feed back would be appreciated.

Nah, i ment how to open the data.pak file, I wanted to change it for the whole game .

There are a few tutorials out. Check www.thegamersbattlefield.com. Basically, you need to maintain the correct file path when extracting from the data pak.

Best thing is to create your own Mods directory and extract the files you wish to amend to that directory. You will need to create a mods.xml and a modobjects.xml. Look at the file structure from the Ostfront_Demo to give you an idea.

Be warned it takes alot of time and patience to mod this game. It is not C&C or AOE.

Ok i`v installed the demo in "C:\Program\Nival Interactive\Blitzkrieg\Run\Mods\Ostfront_Demo\Data", but there is no icon of any sort to start the game, in the start_programs all i get is the uninstall icon and in the folders there are 8 folders for the game and 3 .xml files plus the uninstall......i`m running on windows xp pro... WHAT DO I DO???

You need to check your install file path. Please see my post in response to your "Sapper ib Bobruisk" thread. Basically this bit of the directory tree is important:

.....Run\Mods\Ostfront_Demo\Data

Otherwise nothing will show in the Mods section of the Main Menu.
