 why
« Thread Started on Oct 10, 2006, 10:20pm »

just wondering why all the light mechanised units have to go on top of the trenches and too close to occupied buildings, just to get blown up or torched in the air by russian infantry :P
can this be fixed on the upcoming addon or is there a real reason for this behavior.
thanks

Hi Finlander,

I gather by "light mechansied units" your talking about armoured cars and light tanks?

This is an embedded feature of the original Blitz engine. Its less evident in the original Blitz as the sight and weapon ranges were alot shorter. We can restrict it but unfortunately it would mean the computer controlled units would stand around like lemons and you would thus not get the dynamic behaviour that is achieved now.

You will need to use the "Stand Ground" or "Dig in" icon quite a bit. Also, download the "Range Mod" and this will mean they will not wonder off so far.

yes,thank u for the answer.
i think that i just have to live with it beacuse the range mod(i think)reduces the range of every weapon and the long range is the main thing along with your realistic soundworld that i love these addons so much.hope these things wont change too much in normandy ;)

Yes this happens quite often.

You need to think ahead, then hold units in defence mode.

This will happen all the time, so be prepared. :o
